Dark Rooms is an examination of queer folks and how identity and intimacy are established in private settings. Utilizing the camera obscura method of extinguishing all available light of an enclosed space, I then illuminate my subjects with a pinhole size opening in the room. The camera obscura here creates a portal to the outside environment and serves as an analogy for queer folks to authorize their own identity in private while simultaneously having access to public spaces. This series invites viewers to peek into the lensless world that is camera obscura and of queer intimacy.
